I love to make jewelry, and have been making jewelry to wear myself for many years. When I wore my own creations in public or at social events, I received many positive comments and questions about the jewelry, and often received requests from others to create personalized jewelry for them. I soon realized that there is a great demand for reasonably priced jewelry that can enhance a person’s wardrobe and say something about their personality. Many people find it difficult to find such jewelry because it is either prohibitively expensive or the jewelry that a person can afford does not quite match their wardrobe or does not quite express what they want to express.
Jewelry is a form of art, not just in the making of it, but also in how it is worn. A person uses jewelry to make an artistic statement along with clothing, hair style, and the setting in which they wear the jewelry. I keep this in mind when I take orders for customized jewelry. I will ask questions about what my customers like to wear, what kinds of gatherings they attend, what the atmosphere is like where they work, how they like to wear their hair and ask about jewelry they already own and like to wear. I am very happy to get ideas from my customers about themes, symbols and motifs that they would like to have in their jewelry. I like to generate a discussion that will give me a clear idea of a customer’s tastes and preferences. I will discuss the materials that customers want me to use, and how much money they want to spend. After I fulfill an initial order, I can produce repeat orders quickly and to the customer’s satisfaction. My goal is to produce customized jewelry at a high level of quality that will help my customers use jewelry to express what they want to express.
